For database links, cut and paste the name and date of the article and the title of the database it was found in, because you can't click on the database links from home due to the passworded IP address.

Go to Lexis Nexis, click Legislation, then US Bill Tracking Reports, then in the Keyword box put "National Voter" and "Swift" in the Last name box and "Al" in the first name box.

^sec. 4-8 of this bill text lists all the requirements of the state to implement this act... also, later on, after the bill in 2002, an amendment in the Help America Vote Act of 2002 transferred the FEC’s (Federal Election Commission) responsibilities under the Act to the Election Assistance Commission.

^^check this out^^

also, NewsBank worked well when i typed in "Voter Registration Act of 1993" -- it came up with many criticisms of the act

"Trying to maintain accurate and up-to-date voter registration rolls is not an easy process in West Virginia, county and state election officials say.

Much of the difficulty lies with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 , which changed how often counties could remove inactive voters from their rolls, they say. Prior to passage of the federal law, counties could remove registered voters who had not voted in four consecutive elections (primary or general) from their rolls. Under the National Voter Registration Act , however, a voter technically can go seven years without voting before being removed, said Cindy Smith, elections team leader for the West Virginia Secretary of State's office."
